What is #PescaConFuturo?
From Consejo Mexicano de Promoción de los Productos Pesqueros y Acuícolas, AC (COMEPESCA by its acronym in Spanish) the communication campaign known as Pesca Con Futuro (Fishery with a Future) was born in 2017. Its goal is to promote the sustainable and responsible consumption and to guarantee the future of fishery and aquaculture, as well as of biodiversity of water species in Mexico and Latin America.
It is a crusade whose objective is to spread a sustainable message in fishery and aquaculture production, maintain water populations in a healthy level and guarantee the satisfaction of world demand of ocean products for future generations through just one message: sustainability.
Pesca Con Futuro is trying to create awareness about the importance of sustainable fishery and aquaculture for the preservation of life.
To achieve this common objective, it is crucial to learn how to feel-think-act in harmony with the ecosystems, the sector, and through good practices, improving the health of human beings and of the planet.
What are the actions carried out by #PescaConFuturo?
Announces a variety of certified species to consumers, species in Fishery Improvement Projects and/or with purchase recommendations as well as closed season period, contributing this way to our oceans and inner waters health.
It helps spread the efforts of the fishery and aquaculture sector regarding certification processes as well as improvements in fishery and aquaculture arts.
It links producers, marketers, restaurants, and consumers, to adopt a collective commitment for sustainability.
